Bar Beach
Bar Beach is located on Schafer Road on the way to Merimbula Wharf. This quiet, mostly wave-less, beach is a popular spot for families. Sheltered from the wind, peaceful and calm this beach is an ideal spot for children to play in the sand or search for crabs among the many rocks. Bar Beach is also the perfect place for snorkelling with many locals heading to these waters in the summer months. For the best snorkelling, head either round to the left and swim off the rocks or alternatively, walk around to the right of the beach and snorkel off the sand. When the tide is out this is a great spot to swim across to Main Beach or even walk across to Spencer Park. Watch out for the many surfers who 'surf the bar'.
Beware: This beach is not patrolled and there is channel just off the shallow water through which boats enter and leave Merimbula Lake. This fast flowing water can be a danger to small children.\
